#Iran’s Supreme Council for National Security to Review the Case Against the Detained Green Leaders on Orders of the Supreme Leader

Following the appointment of Ali Shamkhani by the newly elected president Rohani to head of Iran’s Supreme Council for National Security, Mehdi Karroubi’s son, Mohammad Taghi Karroubi reported on his facebook page that Iran’s Supreme Leader has agreed to the Council reviewing the case against the three opposition leaders under house arrest.

Mohammad Taghi Karroubi’s facebook page reads:

“Several weeks ago there were talks in political circles of a meeting between Hashemi Rafsanjani and the Supreme Leader in which the issue of putting an end to the illegal house arrest of the leaders of the Green Movement was presented to the head of the Expediency Council. It has been reported that the Supreme Leader has agreed to refer the case to the Supreme Council for National Security and its newly appointed head Ali Shamkhani. The appointment of Shamkhani [by President Rouhani] a competent and empowered figure who played a valuable role during the eight year war against Iraq and has always been inline with the people, is greatly appreciated, renewing the hope for the release of the Green leaders under house arrest and freedom for all political prisoners behind bars”.

Mir Hossein Mousavi, Mehdi Karroubi and Zahra Rahnavard have been under illegal house arrest since February 14th, 2010. In the months following the presidential elections in June 2013, many political and religious figures have added their voices to that of the nation at large, demanding their immediate release.

محمدتقی کروبی: احتمال ارجاع موضوع حصر میرحسین و کروبی به شورای عالی امنیت ملی

همزمان با انتصاب علی شمخانی به دبیری شورای امنیت ملی از سوی رییس جمهوری، محمدتقی کروبی از موافقت رهبری برای ارجاع پرونده حصر به شورای عالی امنیت ملی خبر داد.

محمدتقی کروبی در صفحه شخصی فیس بوک خود نوشته است: چند هفته پیش در محافل سیاسی خبری از دیدار آقای هاشمی با رهبری بیان شد که در آن موضوع پایان دادن به وضعیت حصر و حبس غیر قانونی رهبران جنبش سبز مورد توجه رئیس مجمع تشخیص مصلحت قرار گرفته بود. در همین راستا شنیده شد که رهبری موافقت خود را با ارجاع این پرونده به شورای عالی امنیت ملی اعلام کردند تا این شورا با دبیر جدید به موضوع حبس غیر قانونی ورود ماهوی داشته باشد. انتخاب آقای شمخانی بعنوان فردی لایق و توانمند که در دوران جنگ سابقه ارزشمندی داشته و همواره در کنار مردم و کشور بوده هم جای تقدیر و تشکر دارد و هم امیدی برای رفع حصر رهبران دربند. به امید آزادی همه زندانیان سیاسی وعقیدتی.

هر چند حصر غیرقانونی میرحسین موسوی و مهدی کروبی به گفته فرمانده ناجا با دستور رهبری صورت گرفته است اما محمدباقر قالیباف در جریان تبلیغات انتخاباتی یازدهمین دوره انتخابات ریاست‌جمهوری اعلام کرده بود که «موسوی و کروبی با مصوبه شورای عالی امنیت ملی در حصر خانگی به سر می‌برند». ادعایی که تاکنون از سوی هیچ یک از مقامات رسمی کشور عنوان نشده بود.

حصر غیرقانونی میرحسین و کروبی تاکنون بارها مورد انتقاد و مخالفت گروه های سیاسی، مراجع و علما قرار گرفته است. در جریان مبارزات انتخاباتی هم یکی از خواسته ها و مطالبات گروهی از شرکت کنندگان در انتخابات رفع حصر از موسوی و کروبی و آزادی زندانیان سیاسی بود.
